Born David Benjamin Noble, 23 October 1975, Los Gatos, but raised in Santa Cruz, California. As a child he was not interested in music, but instead amused himself "ripping apart anything electronic, boomboxes and walkmans especially, forcing an electrical current through them to see what sounds resulted"; later he began recording his efforts on tape and consequently began building and customizing his own instruments, virtual and otherwise. He eventually released several soundtracks for such artists as Miranda July, Trevor Juntunen, Nicklaus Deyring, and Tyler Osbourne. D. Ben Noble recently moved back to Santa Cruz after a seven year period during which he resided in such exotic locations as Portland, Oregon and San Luis Obispo, California.
